Privacy
Tinnimo privacy policy
Effective October 25, 2026. Tinnimo is made by Tinnimo ("we").
This policy covers Tinnimo for iPhone and this website. This website uses no cookies, analytics or trackers. Our host, Vercel, processes basic technical data, such as IP addresses, to deliver pages and protect the site. We don't use it to identify or track you. See Vercel's privacy policy.
In short
- Tinnimo has no account, no ads and no tracking.
- Everything you log stays on your iPhone. We never receive it.
- Tinnimo doesn't use your microphone, location, contacts or Apple Health data.
- You can export or delete everything in Settings › Data and privacy.
What Tinnimo keeps on your iPhone
To work, Tinnimo saves these in its own storage on your iPhone:
- Check-ins: how loud your tinnitus is (1 to 5), an optional mood, and what was different that day, such as poor sleep or stress.
- Sleep: how you slept, how loud the ringing was on waking, and which sounds played.
- Monthly check: your answers to 10 questions about how tinnitus affected your week.
- Your setup answers: how your tinnitus sounds, which ear, when it's hardest, how much it bothers you, your goals, whether any warning signs apply, and your reminder times.
- Tone match: the pitch and loudness you matched.
- Activity: relief sessions (ratings before and after, sounds, minutes), game results, lessons finished, articles read, quotes and tips you saved, and time spent learning.
- What you write: lesson reflections, kinder thoughts and parked worries.
- Sounds and settings: mixes, favorites, sleep timer, volume limit and similar preferences.
We don't receive any of this. Tinnimo's code sends none of it to us or to anyone else, and the app contains no third-party analytics, advertising or crash-reporting code.
Backups
Tinnimo's data is part of your iPhone's backups. If you use iCloud Backup or back up to a computer, a copy of your Tinnimo data is included, under Apple's terms and your own settings. We can't access these backups. To keep a computer backup private, choose an encrypted backup.
What leaves your iPhone, only when you choose
- Export: Settings › Data and privacy › Export my data makes a file of everything Tinnimo keeps, plus a spreadsheet of your check-ins, and opens the share sheet. You choose where it goes.
- Doctor report: a PDF of your last 90 days, made on your iPhone. It goes nowhere unless you share it.
- Emails to us: contact links open a draft in your mail app. If you send it, we receive your email address and what you wrote, such as feedback or a request for free access to Tinnimo Plus. We use it only to reply and help you, keep it only as long as that takes, and delete it whenever you ask.
Apple services and links
- Purchases: Tinnimo Plus is sold through Apple. Apple handles payment, so we never see your card details or Apple ID. Tinnimo checks on your iPhone whether you have Plus. Apple's privacy policy covers purchases.
- Reminders and the Lock Screen: reminders are scheduled on your iPhone, with no server. Their text, such as "How's the hum today?", can show on your Lock Screen; you control this in your iPhone's Settings › Notifications › Tinnimo. While a sound plays, its name, such as "Rain on canvas + pink noise", shows on the Lock Screen and in the playback controls. You can turn off Tinnimo's Live Activities in your iPhone's Settings › Tinnimo.
- Links: research sources, helplines and "Find help near me" open in Safari or Apple Maps. Maps receives a search such as "audiologist" and nothing from your journal. Those services follow their own privacy policies.
- Spoken guidance: the body scan uses your iPhone's built-in voice. Nothing you wrote is spoken or sent.
- Keyboard and dictation: what you type goes through your iPhone's keyboard. Dictation and third-party keyboards with Full Access follow Apple's or the keyboard maker's policies.
- Crash reports: if you turn on Share With App Developers in your iPhone's Analytics settings, Apple may share crash data and usage statistics with us in a form that doesn't identify you.
How long data is kept, and deleting it
- Tinnimo keeps what you log until you delete it. Nothing is deleted automatically, and hiding something, such as letting a worry go, doesn't erase it.
- Settings › Data and privacy › Delete everything erases all of it from your iPhone at once. Deleting the app does the same.
- Deleting doesn't cancel Tinnimo Plus (manage that in your Apple ID settings), and it can't reach your device backups or copies you shared.
Your choices and rights
Your data stays on your iPhone, so you control it directly: view it in the app, export it or delete it. The only personal data we hold is email you send us; crash reports Apple may share with us don't identify you. To see, correct or delete it, write to support@tinnimo.com. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to complain to a data protection authority.
Security
Tinnimo's data is protected by your iPhone's passcode and iOS's built-in encryption. Tinnimo has no separate lock, so anyone who can unlock your iPhone can open it.
Health information and children
Tinnimo is a wellness app, not a medical device. The health information you log is for your own use and is never used for advertising, marketing or data mining. Tinnimo doesn't collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes and contact
If we change how Tinnimo handles data, we'll update this policy and its date before the change ships. Questions: Tinnimo, support@tinnimo.com.
