If poor sleep lasts for weeks, ask about CBT for insomnia, which helped people with tinnitus sleep better in a trial. - [White, pink or brown noise for tinnitus: which one helps?](https://tinnimo.com/guides/white-pink-brown-noise-for-tinnitus): No noise color has been shown to work best for tinnitus. Small studies found that white, pink and other noises helped about equally, so pick the one you find most pleasant and keep it soft, ideally just below your tinnitus. - [CBT for tinnitus: what it is, the evidence, and how to try it](https://tinnimo.com/guides/cbt-for-tinnitus): Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for tinnitus teaches skills to change how you think about and react to the sound. It doesn't remove tinnitus, but trials suggest it can make it less bothersome, and US and UK guidelines recommend it. - [When to see a doctor about tinnitus](https://tinnimo.com/guides/when-to-see-a-doctor-about-tinnitus): See a doctor soon if your tinnitus started suddenly, is in one ear only, beats with your pulse, or comes with dizziness, ear pain or hearing loss. If your hearing drops suddenly, get seen within 24 hours, because treatment works best early. - [Tinnitus pitch matching: what it can and can't tell you](https://tinnimo.com/guides/tinnitus-pitch-matching): Pitch matching finds the tone that sounds closest to your tinnitus. It can help tune a sound to your ringing, but it isn't a hearing test, the match often shifts from day to day, and UK guidelines advise against using it to assess tinnitus. - [How to choose a tinnitus app: 7 things to check](https://tinnimo.com/guides/how-to-choose-a-tinnitus-app): Look for an app that is honest about the evidence, safe with volume, private with your data, clear about cost and useful offline. A good tinnitus app supports care from a doctor or audiologist, and it never promises a cure. - [Sound therapy for tinnitus: what it is and what the evidence says](https://tinnimo.com/guides/sound-therapy-for-tinnitus): Sound therapy uses pleasant background sound to make tinnitus less noticeable. Many people find it comforting and US guidelines list it as an option, but reviews have not shown that sound devices work better than no device on their own. ## Optional - [Full text for language models](https://tinnimo.com/llms-full.txt): the key pages and every guide as plain markdown, with sources. - [Sitemap](https://tinnimo.com/sitemap-index.xml): every page on tinnimo.com.
